Roots of Empathy Visit 5
Our tiny teacher, Baby Mick, visited us this week to teach us all about sleep. We learned that getting the right amount of sleep is so important to our physical and mental health. We also learned that we go through different stages in our sleep, active and non-active sleep. Sometimes when a baby transitions from one type of sleep to the other, they can waken and become distressed. At this time a parent will comfort their child with their transitional object, a cuddly toy, a dummy, or in Mick's case, his special blanket that smells like his mummy. Marie Claire showed us a video of Mick falling asleep. When Mick is drifting over to sleep, he likes to talk to himself, this helps soothe him but it did make us laugh!
