Primary School Concert trip to see Ulster Orchestra
Primary 4 to 7 pupils and staff enjoyed a very entertaining morning at Newry Leisure Centre to see The Ulster Orchestra 🎶 .Our pupils joined other primary schools to listen to the wonderfully skilled musicians play string, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments. Pupils learnt that harmony, rhythm, timbre, pitch, tempo and melody are the elements that are required to make compositional pieces. One lucky P5 pupil from our school also had the opportunity to participate in making a triad! (three notes in a chord). We were also asked to pretend to be conductors, not as easy as it looks 😀. Before the session was over pupils and teachers got quite competitive in answering the musical quiz. The outcome was a win for the pupils. Well done everyone 👍.
