P5/6 Snow Day Activities

10th Mar 2023

Good Morning P5/6,

Please find below some activities based on snow to do at home today.

Literacy - Handwriting

Can pupils please copy the text below three times in their best handwriting. Then at the end write a brief sentence about what really happened to the snowball.

I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pyjamas,
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first it wet the bed.

Please click the link above to take you to a game called Snowball Smash. The more questions you answer correctly then the more hearts/lives you have for the game.

Pupils can pick any of the subjects they wish to play. We have worked on addition and subtraction this week so it might be best to do them. Once you have picked a subject i.e addition, then pupils can pick an objective that provides questions to answer. But at the bottom of the page there are year group objectives to pick. Can P5 please select year 3 targets and P6 select year 4 work. These year group objectives will provide a range of addition questions to answer. Once you have clicked the year group objective then please click play in the bottom right-hand corner. Remember the more hearts you earn the longer you can last in the snowball fight against other pupils. Enjoy.

N.B if the game does not work then please copy the link and open it in Google Chrome.

Fun in the Snow

I have posted fun activities on the P5/6 class page that you can do in the snow. The snow labyrinth and igloo can be done without certain resources. Mini igloo can be done with a different container than the one shown. The snow lantern and paint snow do need other items that you might not have at home.

You do not have to do all four, I have only sent them as a bit of fun and something different.

Hope you enjoy the day.
